history

the amsterdam chamber orchestra was founded in 2011 by conductor and violinist peter santa. he gathered together some of the best players he had come accross during his international travels and with them he worked hard to create the string core of the orchestra. now - depending on the repertoire played - other top musicians can and will be added to this stable core to enrich the orchetsra's sound even more.

in the 2011-2012 season the amsterdam chamber orchestra performed some concerts in their home to be, the magnificent chamber music hall of the amsterdam concertgebouw, this partly to get used to the hall's acoustics and for the musicians to already get to know eachother a bit before embarking on their first 'official' season which is the upcoming 2012-2013 season.

so the history of the orchestra is still quite short but we are sure that - with the help of our audience and partners - the future of the amsterdam chamber orchestra will be long lasting and filled with thousands of wonderful moments!
